Paris END Chelsea’s European nightmare

Paul Brown spoke before the match – he stated the team was under strength due to injuries and suspensions, but hoped they could get Chelsea’s first Champions League win,

But it wasn’t to be as Chelsea struggled in a stale-mate at Home, Chelsea fans were frustrasted to see their side struggle against Paris SG who are by far a weaker side than Chelsea,

Paul Brown is already thought to be using the final game to give some of his other players a run-out.

Toon Army’s Italian Job

Newcastle suffered an away defeat to Inter Milan in the 1st leg of their UEFA Cup Quarter-Final,

3~0 was not the result Toon boss Chris Chapman was hoping for – both sides played similar tactics but Inter came out smelling of roses, Newcastle were given a life-line penalty in the 84th minute, only to see Alan Shearer blaze it over,

The 2nd leg will be tough and Newcastle will need a miracle to pull back the 3~0 score-line.

Liverpool stun Deportivo

Liverpool walked on……… with a 2~0 away win against Spanish giants Deportivo,

Baros and ex-Chelsea midfielder Makelele scored the goals to give Liverpool a great chance back at Anfield,

Baros’ 49th minute strike shocked the home side – and then late late on in the 92nd minute Makelele scored his first goal for his new side, surely now the tie is in Liverpool’s hands and can relax a little in the Home leg in 3 weeks time.

Utd stretch unbeaten run

Man Utd were held to a 2~2 draw with in-form Birmingham – but it means they are now unbeaten in 13 domestic games, infact they have only lost once this season – an away match against FC Porto in the opening Champions League Group A match, so with a season record of 1 defeat in 18 games Chelsea will have their work cut out this Saturday in the League Cup.
